Professor of Art Emeritus at Clemson University, World War II combat veteran, and a prolific painter inspired by the human experience he has lived and the nature he has observed. Ireland Regnier's works are poignant examples of American art over the past six decades.

Born in Texarkana, Arkansas in 1925 and raised in the tiny town of Horatio, Arkansas, Ireland recognized he had a passion for painting long before graduating from High School and enlisting in the United States Army in the summer of 1943. The rolling hills, teeming with wildlife, and particularly the motif of birds in flight are still sources of inspiration on his easel.
